Focusing on AGang

The AGang design concept has entered its third season. In the two years of its existence it gained a large client base and filled a hole in the market for designer bicycles. Now it is time to move one year forward.

In the following interview we will better acquaint you with its structure and its differences from other brands of bicycles, and we will not leave out what is new in 2012.

AGANG

We asked someone who is in charge of the third model line of the brand – the Product Manager Jára “Spaceman” Spěšný.

What is AGang?

A reliable Czech brand with a selected collection of all categories of bike models ranging from kids to freeride bikes. The bikes are mostly built in order to provide very good quality/price ratio with the high emphasis placed on structural design and technical specification for a demanding domestic consumer. There are obvious specification differences from the other conventional brands on the market (e.g. 20 speed gearing, evolutionary planetary gears, proprietary suspension system, etc….). In terms of frame geometry and component selection the bikes are built like other brands, i.e. they are the tool of spending one's leisure time.

AGang is and will be the functional and design solitaire that will always represent our concept of riding bike's functionality and style. We promote our own ways of manufacture and presentation of bikes and accessories.

What is the structure of AGang like?

AGang has 3 construction levels – that of utility, components and design. In principle, the 2012 collection consists of 11 model ranges. Each range is exactly built based on the specific requirements applying to the riding properties, equipment and design of each specific bike. Many components and parts are of our proprietary construction.

What are the original AGang technical solutions?

In 2011, AGang presented its proprietary structural design of rear wheel suspension for full suspension bikes named Drive Link Pivot®. It works on the principle of a four-pivot mechanism with the original solution of locating the rear triangle pivot above the rear wheel axle. It is the historically first Czech structural design of suspending the rear wheel this way, which was also fully developed and designed in the Czech Republic by the Czech engineer Zdeněk Urban.

The Drive Link Pivot® system was also used for the prototype of the downhill Ninja DH special, which was built in order to test the excellent qualities of this rear wheel suspension system. Ninja DH actually combines the top technologies represented both by AGang brand and by the international component manufacturers. The weight of the complete Ninja DH bike including the pedals is incredible 15.15 kg.

What bikes does AGang offer?

AGang offers the bikes for freeride (Ninja), enduro (Cult), miss enduro (Trinity), xc trail (Gangsta), xc trail 29“ (Gangsta 29), miss xc trail (Nikita), city (Sincity), freestyle bmx (Pimp), freestyle mtb (Exe) and kids bikes (Capo / Angel/ Big Boss). The range includes the bikes which are specifically designed for men, women and unisex. Each model range has a unique name which is marked by a number depending on the price level. The higher the number the more expensive model.

Which sportsmen does AGang cooperate with and why?

AGANG

AGang has its own factory team including the renowned sportsmen specializing in extreme disciplines (Damjan Siriški – freestyle mtb, Petr Kraus – freestyle mtb, Jeny Valenta – freestyle bmx and Ondra Šléz – freestyle bmx). Like the car manufacturers use F1 or Rally racing to test the new materials and technical solutions for the future, AGang also places high emphasis on testing in the highest forms of extreme cycling. Therefore the factory riders are the essential part of the development. Every day they shift the boundaries of cycling and that way they constantly increase the requirements for the used material and structural design. The knowledge obtained from the riders is consulted and evaluated in detail in view of the potential use in the serial production of individual model ranges. Each of our riders has a direct influence on manufacturing technologies, designing procedures and frame geometry of all model ranges and guarantees the proper course of testing.

For whom is AGang intended?

Past are the times when various age groups had their own way or dressing, communicating and different ways of spending their free time. Today, nobody is surprised to see sixty-year-olds attending a rock concert and young people attending classical music or jazz concerts.

We perceive the world around us independent of our age. Our efforts at living a unique or consumer life have no age limits or restrictions - AGang is here for everybody.

Where can you purchase an AGang?

The AGang brand has the same distribution network as Author, which means more than 300 dealers throughout the Czech Republic and representation abroad. You can find the list at www.agang.eu.
