Author Carbon CROSS

After usage of carbon material on generation I and II of road and also later MTB frames, we came with this frame material to be used also on 2009 Cross models – SYNERGY and AVION and we are going to stay with it also for 2011 model year.

Frame tubes shape is coming out from tried and tested MTB frame tube shape - BIAXIAL TUBE PROFILE (BTP) of down tube and straight chain stay legs (3S). The primary feature of the carbon material (absorption of roughness and shocks), supported by the S-shape of the seat stay VAD (Vibration Absorption Design), multiplies the dampening quality to the extreme, rightfully earning the label COMFORT STAY. All of that is supported by horizontal flattening of top tube, brings to this model maximum of comfort, but also required acceleration.

The frame is made applying the AUTHOR MONOCOQUE CARBON TECHNOLOGY, which is in fact the connection of the front triangle to the chain and seat stays into one monocoque shell frame design. This secures a more robust, stiffer, and the safest possible connection.

Another benefit of carbon is the higher rigidity, strength and lower material fatigue compared to duralumin and also the chance to arbitrarily shape all tube profiles.

Frame weight is 1.500g, even though the frame weight hadn’t been the priority while creating this frame design. It was the comfort and design elegance. Frame will be offered in 4 sizes (16, 18, 20 and 22”).

Full 22 days of production of each frame, several levels of parameter QC checking during production and extensive laboratory load tests provide absolute quality guarantee for all carbon frames AUTHOR.
