ToraycaCarbon Material

We use the constructional (so called Preprag) as well as the final visual (Uni Directional random) layers of carbon material from one of its top-quality manufacturers – Japanese brand of TORAYCA, the carbon supplier for F1 monopostos of BROWN GP mark, for example. The processer of these materials and the manufacturer of the actual frame or, as the case may be, further components for us is the Taiwan company of Carbotec Ind. then. Carbotec Ind.

Physical Qualities and Advantages:

  • moption to specify the physical properties of the frame as needed for specific fields
  • low weight
  • lower plasticity as compared to ALAuthor karbon
  • high strength and rigidity
  • absorption of shocks
  • almost unlimited possibility in shaping the profiles
  • no limitations for graphics and design of the frame (absence of welds)
  • falling price

Final Visual Layer of Frame

1. Woven:

  • a) 12K
  • b) 3K (used by AUTHOR until 2009)
  • c) 1K

2. Uni-directional fibre (UD = Uni Directional)

  • with admixture of “hair”, designated as the “random” surface

Since 2010 we use only UD or, alternatively, the random final visual layer of carbon material for our carbon frames.

Glossy or Matt Surface of Frame

Glossy – application of clear varnish in 100%

Matt – application of varnish with a matt admixture into the clear varnish (ratio of 4:1) – e. g. Modus 2010.
