Petr Skála

Petr SkálaWhen young he was inflicted with childhood cerebral palsy. Since then, he has suffered from involuntary movements and muscle imbalances.

Starting at the age of five he decided to look fate in the eye and began single-mindedly training. He began loving sports, and especially the bicycle. Inspired by the book by Jan Vlasák - Vandry s Bejkem (Bike Wanderings) he began the same across Europe – first came trips through the Austrian Alps, the Italian Dolomites and the Apennines, followed by trips in Corsica, Sardinia, Hungary, etc.

His doctor, MUDr. Jiří Matuška, told our company about Petr Skála’s story. We decided to “sponsor” Mr. Skála as a tribute to his boundless will, zeal, and single-mindedness and also because of his love of bicycles.

As a gift we gave him the Mission cross bike. On it, he undertook an almost two-month tour going from the Pyrenees to the Czech Republic in April and May 2010.

We can do nothing but take our hat off to him for his optimistic approach to the fate that life gave him and all that he has been able to accomplish and be inspired by all the positive things he has done. We consider him a winner.
